El Shabrawy traces back to a small stall opened in El Korba, Heliopolis, in 1948 by El-Hajj Shabrawy El-Kebir, serving ful medames and falafel with the family's own spice blend. It grew into a multi-branch Cairo chain, and this Heliopolis location serves the same core menu of ful, falafel and Egyptian fast food.
