Cairo Governor: Youth Employment Forum Canceled Because of “Coronavirus”

Cairo Governor Major General Khaled Abdel Aal decided to cancel the employment forum scheduled to take place from 12 to 14 March this year in one of Downtown’s gardens, to prevent gatherings and avoid infection with coronavirus.

The Cairo governor added in a statement today that the decision implements the Prime Minister’s decision to suspend all events involving large crowds of citizens, to limit the consequences of the spread of “Coronavirus.”

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, decided yesterday to suspend all events involving large gatherings of citizens, or those involving the movement of citizens between governorates in large groups, until further notice.

The Cabinet’s decision comes as part of the precautionary measures taken by the government to confront the “novel coronavirus,” and the relevant authorities will be responsible for implementing it.

It is worth noting that the Cairo governor opened the first employment forum last February, organized by the governorate under the title “Investing in Youth” at Al Gezira Park, with the participation of 100 major companies in the fields of training and employment, as well as an exhibition featuring 41 productive projects already operating on the ground, supported by the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development Agency as an encouraging example for young people attending the forum to start their own projects.

 

The forum is part of the President’s interest in young people and aims to create channels of communication between young people and various leaders, whether executive authorities or businesspeople, while working to prepare them for the labor market according to modern international standards. He noted that the forum provides 7 thousand job opportunities for young people across all sectors.
