Amid the coronavirus pandemic and the forced evacuation of city streets around the world, Saudi telecommunications company Zain launched an awareness advertisement that spread hope among people confined to their homes and uploaded it to YouTube.
The video, which received eleven million views, featured a little girl singing in a Gulf accent. It included distinctive scenes of downtown Cairo, from balconies to roads and passageways.
Zain is known to serve approximately fifty million customers, with coverage in the Arab countries of Saudi Arabia/Kuwait/the United Arab Emirates/Bahrain in the Gulf, while its operations also extend to other countries such as Lebanon/Jordan/Sudan/and Iraq.
However, it did not choose any of the Arab capitals where it operates and instead chose Cairo to film its advertisement in one of its oldest and most beautiful squares, Talaat Harb Square. It also filmed one scene in the Bahler Passage, which overlooks Suleiman Pasha and Qasr El Nil Streets.
Perhaps Cairo was the capital of capitals.
