Maadi Public Library, run by the Egyptian Society for Culture and Development (ESCD), opened on Nasser Street in New Maadi on 30 June 2002. It has separate halls for adults and children, a puppet theatre, and an Arabic and English collection covering fiction, history, science and the arts.
