InterContinental Cairo Semiramis is a 32-storey tower in Garden City on the Nile, completed in 1987 on the site of the original Semiramis Hotel, which opened in 1907 as Cairo's first riverside luxury hotel and was demolished in the 1970s. The current building has more than 700 rooms and remains one of downtown Cairo's tallest hotels.
