City Stars opened its first phase in October 2004, developed by Golden Pyramids Plaza on the border of Nasr City and Heliopolis. Its mall occupies interconnected buildings styled after the Giza pyramids and holds hundreds of stores, a multiplex cinema and an indoor amusement park, alongside the InterContinental, Holiday Inn and Staybridge Suites hotels.
