Mall of Arabia opened in 2010 at the border of 6th of October City and Sheikh Zayed, developed under the Fawaz Alhokair Group's Marakez arm. It is a value-oriented mall of around 300 stores anchored by Carrefour, IKEA and Home Center, and was the site of Gap's first store in Africa in 2011.
