About
Karmat Ibn Hani was the villa the poet Ahmed Shawqi built in Giza after returning from exile. President Anwar Sadat ordered it turned into a museum bearing Shawqi's name in 1972, and it opened on 17 June 1977, later renovated and reopened in 1996 as the Karma Ibn Hani cultural center. Spread over two floors, it holds hundreds of the poet's manuscripts and drafts alongside paintings and family photographs.
