This pharaonic-style mausoleum on Falaki Street holds the remains of nationalist leader Saad Zaghloul, who died in 1927. Construction finished in 1931 under the Ismail Sidqi government, though his remains were not moved here from the Imam Al-Shafi'i cemetery until 1936. His wife Safia Zaghloul, known as 'Mother of the Egyptians,' is also buried here, surrounded by a public garden.
